San Diego Contractors Network

Most networking events were not built for the people who build everything else.

The general contractors. The electricians. The plumbers. The roofers. The tile guys. The framers. The ones who are on a job site before the sun comes up and still answering calls after it goes down.

They don't have time for talk. They are too busy building.

Anthony Nicholas saw that gap and decided to do something about it. The San Diego Contractors Network exists because someone in the trades finally built a room designed for the people in the trades. No pressure. No pitch fest. No wasted time. Just real conversations between people who understand what it actually takes to run a business with their hands and their reputation on the line.

A space built by a builder, for builders.

Most businesses don't have a numbers problem. They have a clarity problem.

The revenue is moving. The clients are there. But somewhere between the transactions and the decisions, something gets lost. A margin that doesn't make sense. Cash that should be there but isn't. Tax exposure that nobody caught until it was expensive.

Albert Salazar built Ledgerflare for exactly that business. Not the simple ones. The ones with real moving parts. Inventory. Projects. Sales across states. The founder-led operation running between one and ten million that needs more than a bookkeeper at tax time but isn't ready to hire a full finance department.

What Albert does is rare. He doesn't just know the numbers. He knows the systems behind the numbers. The software. The logic. The structure that makes everything traceable and nothing fall through.

Accounting that runs with the business. Not after it.

Most musicians know their craft. Most venues know their space. Most music organizations know their mission. What none of them were taught is how to turn what they already do into something that pays them consistently — without giving it away first, without burning out the person holding it together, and without starting over every time the momentum drops.

That is exactly what Music Legacy International exists to do. For musicians. For venues. For sponsors. For everyone who touches this industry and deserves more than exposure and encouragement.

The difference between a mission and a movement is structure. Who gets placed first. Who commits before the camera turns on. Where payment happens in the order — not after, not eventually, now.

Some people are already sitting on everything they need. They just haven't seen it in the right order yet.

And that system has to be built before it can run.

Real estate moves fast.

Deals close on deadlines. Estates don't wait for grief to finish. Investors lose money by the day when numbers don't come back in time. Agents stake their reputation on partners who actually show up.

And yet most appraisers operate like the urgency isn't real. Slow turnaround. Vague reports. Nobody picks up the phone.

Will Schmall built Appraisals by Will around the opposite of that. He is the appraiser you don't have to chase. The one who picks up. The one who delivers before the deadline, not after it. The one who can walk a grieving family through an estate valuation with patience and then turn around and give an investor the hard numbers they need to close by Friday.

In a market full of interchangeable reports, that is the difference.

That is Appraisals by Will.

Most people who work in affordable housing don't do it for the money.

They do it because someone needs a home. Because a family is one bad decision away from instability. Because the systems that are supposed to help people navigate housing are complicated, underfunded, and impossible to access without someone who actually knows how they work.

Leigh Lester is that person.

Through Ubuntu Learning Institute, she trains the trainers. The housing counselors. The nonprofit employees. The community development professionals who sit across the table from families trying to stay housed, get housed, or understand what they own. She runs HUD certification programs, affordable housing bootcamps, and partner-delivered training through some of the most respected organizations in the sector.

She has spent nearly 30 years building credibility in a field that does not hand it out easily. She sits on boards. She advises HUD. She teaches. She is nationally recognized in affordable housing, appraisal equity, and community development — and she carries all of it with the kind of quiet authority that only comes from actually doing the work.

Ubuntu. Making real impact in the world today.
